Whoops, I thought I understood where these double postings were coming from, but I see now tht I was wrong. I was also wrong about posting "Live" URLs into this "Message" box. It turns out that if you use the correct syntax (as I failed to do in my first response to Randy's posting) the link is live just as if you used the "Optional Link URL" and "Link Title" boxes.

As for the double postings, they apparently stem from attempts to edit errors in one's posting by using one's browser's "back" button to return to the original message one edited and then fixing one's errors and reposting the message. At least this is one source for the multiple postings. Witness now the duplication of not only my postings in reply to Randy's but the duplication of his original posting as well!

I think there are some subtleties that take a while to work through when using this forum software.

If you want to post a live URL in your message, this is the syntax: <a href="http://your_site's_url.com/and_optional_file_specification.html"> The Title of Your Link</a>

I won't be able to tell if this worked out as I hope until I post it, and then, if it doesn't, I won't be able to edit it. So chagrin will be expressed in the next posting.
